  • Item 5.4: Board approved a one time payment of $1,500 (that is gross…taxes still need to come out) to full-time district employees who have been with the district at least since the start of the 2011-12 school year. Employees have not been given raises for several years. This one-time payment is scheduled to be paid out on March 16, 2012. During discussion, district director of business services Missy Wood said, "Was this something that was really needed, and was it something that the employees deserved? Oh yes, it was past time . . . This is the right thing to do." Mrs. Wood explained that the money comes from American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds that must be used for, "compensation and benefits and other expenses such as support services necessary to retain existing employees . . ."
