Special Services: Records Retention

Special Education records (including placement records, referrals, evaluations, testing data, and other related records) must be kept by the school district for four years after a student's final year of enrollment in Special Services programs.

During May/June of 2012 we will be shredding Special Education files for students who graduated, moved out of the District, or terminated from Special Services in 2007-08.

If you wish to receive a copy of your son/daughter's file, please call MaryAnn Ruark at 928-505-6934, Monday-Thursday, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. (Note: Once a student turns 18, the records will only be given to them, and not a parent. There may be exceptions. If you have a question, give us a call.)
